What's cooking??!

 السلام عليكم

Again, 3 posts per day. At least not 7 posts per day. Yeahh, I know. I write LONNNGGGGGG entries kan? So what? I own this blog :D

Hmm, but in this post, less words. I hope :S

Besides my passion for reading and speed (sebab th bawak kereta laju.muahaha), I LOVE COOKING. Not to say I'm a good cook. I just love the matching up spices and sauces, adding the right ingredients at the right time, stirring, decorating plates and jellies, just a fun and easy way to make craft; edible crafts.

It's also a way of me expressing my creativity and using the right-side of my brain. The time for me to cook will be at home. That's why living in a boarding school, I was dead bored due to no cooking. Thus, I really utilize my time at home AND now, go back home as frequently as I can.hahah

Among my attempts:

+Udang Masak Lemak Nenas

Need to learn how to pekatkan the kuah lemak. Some said letak serbuk buah keras. Tak pernah try lagi. Will do :)  To make this kuah lemak, I used live tumeric a.k.a. kunyit hidup yang ditumbuk. So, it will produce prettier colour for the kuah. Not to forget, add some daun kunyit and serai to enhance the flavour.

+Roti Jala

Actually, dah lama nak buat roti jala. But then the acuan always missing in action or disappear in thin air. At last managed to buy a new one, and headed to dapur. And, voila! Roti jala. You can add an egg to make the roti jala more fluffy. And, use pandan leaves when applying oil to the pan. Trust me, sedap gle! Though it's better to fry the mixture until a bit brownish before lifting it up from the pan. Best serve with THICK Chicken Curry. Yumm!

+Beef Lasagne

Mushrooms

Minced meat with small chunks of carrots

Cheese sauce; irresistible

Layers. Main attraction: CHEESEEEE!

In the making

Cacat Gunung Berapi -.-'
A hearty piece of lasagne served with salad dressed with thousand island sauce
My favourite! Cooking it wasn't easy, yet wasn't hard. Just need lots of patient because you have to prepare many things before layering it. I thought my attempt for lasagne will be prefect but NO! It was overcooked. I had some issues with the microwave, pfft! That's why it looked like a VOLCANO. =____=' Nevertheless, the taste was superb! Just a bit salty. Hey, I was fasting at that time.hehe Can't wait for my next attempt. Tapi tak boleh buat selalu. Ingredients mahal ;)

+Colourful Cocktail Jelly

Boil and stir until fully dissolved

Yellow

Pink

Blue

Green

Purple

Rainbow

Canned cocktail fruits, remove the syrup

T_T
This was what I had prepared for iftar last Saturday. You can read what happened in previous post. I was devastated. The jellies scattered nicely all around the floor. There was nothing I  could do to save them. I slipped them, unintentionally.  They went into pieces. I didn't even have the chance to taste them a bit. Too bad. Maybe next time :(

Nak balek rumahh!!
At this moment
many of the students here
are on the way
back home
We're stuck here
for one more day
Got
BIOLOGY and CHEMISTRY class tomorrow
Lepas itu balek! YEAHHH!

Iftar with beloved :')

السلام عليكم

After volunteering at the zoo, I continued my AWH-SOME Saturday with my besties. They came to my house for a small iftar among us. To whom who do not know what is iftar, IFTAR is actually breaking fast/buka puasa in Arabic. Iftar is such a common word here in UIA.

I actually can't join them for the Raya Shopping in Jalan TAR, but at least I could spend some quality time with them at my house. It had been ages since our last chits and chats. Everyone busy updating stuffs and changing stories. Everyone now splits up.  As Pipah said: "Semua ada cita-cita masing-masing". Sooo true.

Some updates:
Pipah: Matriks Selangor, aiming for Pharmacy at USM
Nabilah: INTEC, Ausmat, Electrical Engineering
Sarah: Taylor's, SAM, Chemical Engineering
Nadia: UTP, Information Business

*hope I got all the infos right.heheh Kalau salah sori yea korang :P

The part that is popping in my mind right now is when Pipah blurted out something. Nabilah dah cuak dah. Cepat-cepat tukar topik.hahha Kami je yang tahu pasal ape.hahahha

For the iftar, the food was home made. Menu:

>Nasi Tomato
>Ayam Kurma
>Acar Jelatah
>Sambal Tomato

FOOOOD!!!
Though some food was bought at bazaar behind my house:

>Gulai Kambing
>Otak-otak (as requested by Nabilah)
>Cempedak goreng (Pipah's choice)
>Samosa goreng (Saya teringin)

It was a bit sad because dearest Nadia can't join us. So, bought Peel Fresh Pink Guava as a remembrance :)

Pink & Guavaaaa!
The saddest part was when dessert that was prepared together crash into pieces. The jelly didn't crashed, the bowl did. Sorry Mama, pecahkan bowl :(  Dah la beriyer gle bwat. Sorang satu colour, susun ikut warna pelangi, potong lawa2 *though ade sorang nh potong kecik btol.hahah Semuanya musnah sekelip dua kelip mata. Adoooyy. Takpe la. Takde rezeki la th. Maybe kalau makan, semua orang pon terlampau kenyang. Nak solat pon susah. So better pecah dan buang sahaja T_T

WE.GIRLS.RULE!

Really
hope that everything
will run smoothly for them
InsyaAllah
They're among the best
thing that ever happened
in my life
Thank you Allah

p/s: I want to take this opportunity to say Congratulations!
to a girl that managed to get Straight As. Work harder girl!
Wassalam :)

Zoo Negara Volunteering :)

السلام عليكم

Many things happened last Saturday. It all begun with my first time volunteering in Zoo Negara. I've dying to do that since I watched 3R (still remember that show?) in an episode when Kartini volunteered at Zoo Negara. I've been more eager to do that when Azfarina told me that she had once volunteered and got to 'lepak-lepak' with those hippos XD

This is AZ's hippo!!!
Alhamdulillah, it's like finally Allah said you're ready for it. Go for it! The Environmental and Nature club (ENC) collaborated with Adventure and Recreation club (ARC) had organize the 'Ramadhan with Nature'. This programme also included our brothers and sister in CFS Nilai :)

I went straight to zoo from my home (sent by Mama, thank u!) and arrived at 7.20, as planned. I text my friend, Atikah who was the Assistant Project Manager enquiring about their arrival time. "Hanie, kterang tak bertolak lagi" =___________=' Great, just great. What am I going to do while waiting for half an hour more?

I sat alone waiting for them at the seat accommodated at the ticket counter. I tried my luck. YESSS! Zoo Negara HAS WIFI!!! Hahaha. I think it's for the monkeys and chimpanzees to update the status in Facebook. Or it is me who update my whereabouts in the Fb.heheh :P

At last the UIA group arrived and we gathered to hear a briefing by the Zoo Negara's officers. We were given stickers to indicate that, "Hey I'm a volunteer here, and I didn't pay a single penny to get in here"heheh. Then, we divided ourselves into groups and to different sections.

Sticker!

Bear in mind the the system there was a bit strict. You can't make loud noise as it may disturbed the animal, you DON'T want it to happen. You also can't take random pics at the restricted area. If you disobey the rules, the WHOLE group might be aborted from the volunteering. These were all reminded by the workers there, IT IS FOR YOUR OWN GOOD.

Yeah, it's NO ENTRY. But we went in there. BANGGA XD
Which section I was assigned? I didn't have specific place I want to work, I was happy enough to tag along. But, I got the HIGH PROFILE ANIMALS section. It's just like the Beverly Hills in Zoo Negara. Where all the stars in Zoo Negara were placed. All the amazing parrots and sea lions. They were just toooooooooo adorable :')

I still remember when I was a little kid watching the multi animal show at the pavilion (maybe you have your own memory eh?). I always though, "Apalah yang ade kat belakang stage th???"

This stage laa.
Now, I got the 'backstage pass' to meet the famous stars of Zoo Negara. *thrilledddd!haha

About the work. Our group consist of 4 girls and 4 boys. The boys helped 'cangkul2' the longkang. 2 girls cleaned up the tank at the stage, and I got to 'sapu2' dried leaved with Atikah. Easy right?hahha Alhamdulilllah. Did I mentioned that we were fasting at that time?heheh

After cleaning up the ground, we helped Kak Dewi (one of the workers there) to prepare the food for the animals. Pisang ni potong 2, buang yang hujung dye. Carrot potong 4, tak payah amek yang hujung. Betik buang kulit, potong kecik2, lebih kurang 1 inci. Cubit2 roti th. Basuhkan ikan. Timbangkan ikan 2kg tak termasuk bekas th. And so on. Demand gak animals kat sini.hahha But it was fun preparing the food. Yelah, tak penah buat.hahaa

Then, we got to rileks2 watching the show (while other group were still busy cleaning up). We did the least work compared to the others, I think.

About 12pm, we were ushered to a small hall/Panggong. Terpampang: 'Ramadhan dan Al-Quran' on the LCD screen. Perrrrgh! Dengar ceramah agama kat Zoo Negara. Alhamdulillah, untung laaa. Mentang-mentang UIA.hahah

The ceramah was given by Ustaz Mohd Ariff bin Mohd Rajoli. Yup, it does ring the bell right? He's the son of the famous late actor; M. Rajoli. Again, praises to Allah. I got many new knowledge regarding Islam. I'll share with uguys later. Will be posting about it on Friday, InsyaAllah. Banyak pahala sikit.hahah :D

After that we performed our Zohor prayer at a new Musolla there (nampak sangat dah lama tak go zoo -.-'). Then, I went back home dahhh. Actually I went back a bit early from the others, due to some unavoidable things. Because of that I missed the opportunity to feed the sea lions. I know I had mentioned it, but I want to mention it again. The SEA LIONS are drop dead ADORABLE!!! Maybe next time, whenever is next time. InsyaAllah :)

There's this one parrot
was saying HI! all the time
nak ngorat la th
Hahaha

Hermanas' Buka Puasa (Written Report)

السلام عليكم

Hey, hey! It's me again. 3 posts in day, perghh terbaek! Mentang-mentang hari ini cuti.hehehee

Just wanna report bout our mini reunion in Mid Valley yesterday. Bdak2 UIA PJ (Kelly and Yaya) planned nak buka puasa ramai-ramai kat Mid. Yang akan confirm datang join sure laa bdak UM. Kami ingatkan orang lain macam taknak join. Sekali, hambek ko! 30 orang lebih yang datang. Dari UIA PJ, UM, Taylors, HELP, Uniten, Palam, Sunway/Monash, UPM, UPNM sampai UIA Nilai sana datang join. 39 orang totalnya.

We all plan nak berbuka kat Pizza Hut. Pkul 5 dah sampai dah. Tapi the Pizza Hut's management won't let us in. They said that for buka puasa, it is first come first serve basis and it only starts at 6pm. Hmm, yelah. Terpaksa akur. Sebab Pizza Hut je yang nampaknya cukup besar untuk menampung kami semua.

By 5.45pm kami dah terpacak dah kat depan Pizza Hut. Orang beratur bukan main panjang haah!

And it as getting longer, and longerrrr...
Selepas Hanie dan Kelly order 5 sets of Meal 6 (10 pizzas), kami menunggu rakan-rakan yang lain. Dan tentu sekali bergambaarr! (Please refer to my photo album in Facebook, thank u). Tatkala ada je yang baru sampai, ROARRRR! Bising gilaa! Yelah, dah lama kot tak jumpa. Rindu gilakk :'(

Memang havoc gila laa Pizza Hut th. We're extremely sorry. Tapi tak boleh nak bwat ape dah. Biase la th, girls.hahahaa Sampai orang yang lalu lalang tengok je kterang. Yang paling tak puas hati is a group of abang nh yang tengah PMS kot, marah2. Chill la bro. Puasa kot.hahah

Tapi kesian kat bdak Palam yang datang lambat. After azan baru sampai. Dyorang 6.30 baru bertolak. Drive sendiri laa. Cari parking lagi.

Semua yang datang pon stylo sangatt yea. Kami UIA PJ je yang pakat pakai jubah (Y)

Bak kata Kelly, time kterang paling senyap will be time bill sampai.hahah Bila dah kutip semua, we're short of 20bucks! Like whattt??!? Adooyy, sepatutnya cukup je LEBIH kalau seorang bayar rm10. Luckily, we got a generous friend yang sponsored that 20 bucks. Thanks girl! ;)

Saying goodbyes was the hardest and saddest part. BUT no one cried, because we're really sure that we'll meet up again someday. InsyaAllah.

Hermanas 0610 <3
After uploading a few pictures in Facebook, many were very jealous that we had met up and buka puasa together. They would say; "Best nya!", "Sumpah jealous", "Bestnya, sumpah jealous" or the very famous "Untung laaa" :D

This trip to Mid Valley also signified my first time riding a public bus.heheh

 Dah.
The ENDDDD!
Wassalam :)

Grand Charity Iftar; MEDCY and IDEA

السلام عليكم

Last Sunday, two societies in CFS; MEDCY (Medical Sciences Students) and IDEA (Architecture Students ) had organized an iftar (buka puasa) with anak-anak yatim, ibu-ibu tunggal and the students of their societies. It was supposed to be held a week later but due to some unavoidable problems,  it was held earlier. So little time, and so much to do. Well, expect the unexpected right?

Alhamdulillah, it went very well. Well done to all :)) The committee consists of the LG (Leadership Group of MEDCY) and SUSTEC (Sustainable Architect of IDEA). I chose to be one of the Public Relation and Protocol Bureau, typical Hanie. Hahaha. I just know Azmin (Head Protoc of SSP's Prefectorial Board) will be so damn proud of me.heheh But, yeah. The working style here was quite different from SSP's. Apart that we're working with guys, to me there were too much meetings and lots decision to be made. Yeah, dulu kat sekolah cikgu yang decide kan, kami just jalankan and menaik taraf sajaa. Welcome to the real world Hanie Farhana -.-'

After a tiring meeting planning for GCI, my roomy ATIKAH told me, "Hanie, I nampak ur name kat iklan GCI"
Huh? Iklan GCI? Kenapa?
"Ada ur name and phone number la. Iklan laa"
Laa, yeke? No wonder la ade orang contact I tanya pasal GCI. And I was like, pahal ko nak tanya ak? =___='

GCI Advertisement
Heh, patut la ade orang contact aku. Sekarang dah tertayang nombor aku kat satu UIA nh. Habes laaa. I'm doomed. The world is coming to the end. Noooooooooo! Dah, over plak. Ya Allah, bayangkan kalau Atikah tak bagi taw. Sure-sure aku ignore je message th. Yang Publication and Promotion Bureau pon bukan nak warning awal-awal. At least I can do some preparation ke. Hmm, takpa laa. Benda sudah lepas.

Whatever happens, I had soo much fun. Being and working with the girls of PR, Madi, Hanis and Aqilah was splendid! Other than that, to standardize our apparel, our PM (Project Manager) had ask the girls to wear black jubah with white tudung. For guys, they also had to wear black jubah and white kopiah. When you see them ramai-ramai pakai jubah hitam macam gangster UIA plak.heheh :P

Just sharing what we are  having here in CFS.
Fun la jugak sambutan Ramadhan kat sini.
Hopefully, uguys are having fun
in this wonderful month of Ramadhan too .
Wassalam :)

Hari ini cuti ;)

In the Name of Allah the Most Gracious and Most Merciful.

May peace be upon u. Hari ini saya cuti. Takdak kelas/lecture. Nak bwat apa? Tidok? Ohh, tidak. Saya kena study. Jumaat quiz and kena revise balek ape yg telah dipelajari. Exam Final Sem a few weeks after rayaa! :S

Last week, Madam bio dijangkiti demam campak, pity her and pity us. Cuak la jugak tgk kelas laen semua dah sgt maju ke hadapan. Slalunya kelas kami laa yg paling advance.heheh So now, really need to catch up and prepare our mind set and also do some prereading (though ada yg tak pham). Apabila Madam dh kembali semula, memang pecuttt! tp dlm kelajuan yg sama sebelum ini. Dan, kini kami dah potong org laen. Muahahah.

Hari ini saya dan seluruh warga CFS (excluding pakcik guard) bercuti sempena sambutan Nuzul Quran, hari turunnya Al-Quran.

Bdak CFS UIA PJ, Selangor cuti. UIA Nilai tak cuti, Negori tak cuti. Even UM yg jiran terdekat kami, walaupun takdak laa dekat mane pon tak cuti sebab depa KL. Naseb la tak cuti. Untung laa kterg cuti :)

Marilah kita beramai-ramai membelek dan membaca kitab yang diturunkan khas untuk kita itu, Quranul Karim.

All aboard!!!

السلام عليكم

May I have your attention please. This is your Captain Hanie speaking. To all passengers, please kindly wear your seat belt. But, I'm sorry to say that we don't have any seat belt because this is not Boeing 747. We are now sailing on the rough seas of Life on a ship called Friend-Ship.

Happy Friendship Day to all my beloved friends :)

Friendship Day was actually yesterday, so I'm late. Better late then never.hehehhe Sorry :)

Five-O

Epic: Kerut-kerut

My Beloved Girls.

Hmm, it has been ages since I last met them all. The only one that I can meet everyday is Kelly. Just that we CAN'T meet everyday though we're living in the same campus, too bad. If we bump into each other along the way, it's like we haven't seen each other for 5 years. (I don't think u can imagine how loud we shriek each time we met, HAHAHHA.)

Boys and girls, I would like to express my utmost gratitude to everyone who had been willingly be friended with me. It had been a great pleasure to know all of you. Only one word that I want to say; THANK YOU!

If ur alone,
I'll be ur shadow.
If u want to cry,
I'll be ur shoulder.
If u wanna hug,
I'll be ur pillow. (Esp Sarah)
If u wanna be happy,
I'll be ur smile.
If you ever need a friend,
I'll be me.
May Allah bless u

Secret to Success.

السلام عليكم

Ahooyy! Who wants success? Me! Me! Me! Success has a very wide scope. We have our own definition of success right? Some wants a success of scoring straight A's in our exams (which is very common to most of us), success of completing our 3-feet tall homework/assignment or answering a difficult Maths question which seems harder that Add Math, success of buying the tickets to watch Harimau Malaya play at the World Cup (?!), success of getting the job we always wanted (with high pay of course) or even success of having our parents bought something we are dying for ;)

Mainly success cannot be measured and differ from a person to another. But, I truly believe that there is one ultimate success that every one wants. WHATTT? Success of being near to Allah and have the VVVVVVIP pass to be in His Jannah. InsyaAllah :)

HOW? Hmm, that's a good very question. Well, I think first of all we have to set that golden goal. Then, work and pray for it. Just the common recipe for success.

Suratul Al-Mukminun verses 1, 2 and 9;

"Success indeed are the believers, Who humble in their prayers, ...And those who keep a guard on their prayers"
@
"Sesungguhnya berjayalah orang-orang yang beriman. (Iaitu) mereka yang khusyuk dalam solat mereka...Dan mereka yang memelihara solat-solat mereka."

Allah said it all. From what my point of view, you want to achieve success? Keep a really good eye on your solat. InsyaAlalh :)

I just got the inspiration to write about this entry from an article in a book entitled 'Quran Saintifik, Meneroka Kecemerlangan Quran daripada Teropong Sains' by Dr. Danial bin Zainal Abidin. To tell you the truth, that's NOT my book. I do love books but I don't really read books of that genre, if you follow what I mean. =_____='

Where on Earth did I got that book and why of a sudden I read it? We have this particular Biology assignment where we have to discuss on the origin of human from Apes, related to the Charles Darwin's evolution theory. And our 'Boss' (group leader) showed us this book which had the other related article. So yeah. I got interested to read a couple of the articles and volunteered to translate an article with hopes that I can read more other articles. I'm sorta borrowing the book laa.heheh

So people, hows Ramadhan so far? I reckon our body systems had seems to adjust with the not-eating-and-not-drinking stuff. But Ramadhan is not just about that right? It's more than that. Hmm, what more? That stuff your having in your mind, is all what Ramadhan needs WE need in Ramadhan :)

I bet most of us will be so drop dead tired by an hour before berbuka  kan? That is the peak time for orang yang berpuasa when our prayers are the most mustajab. Aminn~

Yang baik datang daripada Allah
dan yang buruk itu kelemahan diriku ini.
Until later.
Selamat berbuka dan bertarawikh.
Wassalam :)

02 August 2011

Survived, 29 days to go.

السلام عليكم

Alhamdulillah, the Muslim had just done with our first day in the month of Ramadhan Kareem. For me, the atmosphere was quite different compare to my last 5 years in SSP. There's no breaking fast in the Dining Hall with tons of food served colourfully on the round banquet table. No reading the do'a with the whole school. No Tarawikh with Ustaz Hazman, Ustaz Kamil, 'Ustaz' Hanif and 'Ustaz' Aziz. No mureh (supper after Tarawikh) after prep class. Only eating in the room and Tarawikh at the badmninton court, with new friends :))

What seems exciting here in UIA is that we got to go out to the Bazaar Ramadhan EVERYDAY!!! Like waaah~ Because before this we only got to go out on Tuesday for Pasar Malam (which is today). At first I was quite reluctant to go to the Bazaar (Bazaar is located at the same site as Pasar Malam). But then, the UM girls decided to pay us a visit here in UIA. Yelah, dekat je kot.

So, dengan bersemangatnya bersiap siagalah untuk ke Bazaar. Thennn, when we were out of the compound we we totally surprised! Where in the name of Bazaar is the Bazaaar??? Hehs, it  happens that the Bazaar is sooo far away. It started at the end of the Pasar Malam site. JAUHH -.-' Mehh, semputt kot! Nevertheless, it was fun. Especially when we got to spend our first day of Ramadhan buying juadah berbuka puasa with our darling Hermanas :')

UM and UIA bergabunggg! XD
Just a few things to share. Know what's sooo special about Ramadhan? It is the month that the Holy Quran was sent down and the month of Lailatul Qadr. Did you that Ramadhan is the ONLY month in the Islamic calendar that is mentioned in the Quran?

"The month of Ramadhaan is the one in which the Quran was sent down, a guidance for mankind, clear proofs for the guidance, the Criterion; so whoever amongst you witnesses this month, let him fast it." [Quran 2:185)

Hmm, just another more thought . Have you ever felt soo tired and felt that you just wanna lay in ur bed and building castles in the air during the Ramadhan? Well, did you know that our Prophet Muhammad and the Muslims had battled in the Perang Badar during the fasting months. Like WHATT? Depa semua boleh berperang time puasa. Kita ni boleh lagi mengeluh penat. Ish, ish, ish. Buat renungan semua ;)

Yeah, that's about that.
Haa, another Hadith from Sahih Bukhari;

"Whoever prayed at night in it (the month of Ramadan) out of sincere Faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven."

Wokeyh.
Seems to be that I only posted 5 ENTRIES in JULY.
Sangat sikit -.-'
Lots to catch up.
Selamat Berpuasa, Berbuka, Beramal.
Maafku pinta dari anda semua.
Later.
Wassalam :)
